Dental Implants in Praireville, LA

Affordable Dental Implants – Here in our Prairieville/Baton Rouge Office

Would you like to have your smile back? Looking to replace missing teeth with a permanent solution? Would you like to secure your loose denture? Well, you’re in luck. Dental implants, placed right here in our Baton Rouge/Prairieville dental office can do this for you.

Dental implants are the most modern, and state of the art way to replace missing teeth.Dental implants allow us to replace missing teeth without having to reshape healthy adjacent teeth, as was done in the past when placing a bridge.Implants are also a great way to secure a loose denture, a very common occurrence, by giving us something for the denture to attach to. You’ll be amazed at what a difference they make. They are the best solution that modern dentistry has to give you a replacement for your own natural teeth.

Dental implants are one of three ways that you can replace missing teeth (click here to see other options). The other 2 ways are fixed bridges and removable appliances (such as partials or complete dentures). The biggest advantage to having a dental implant placed is that no other teeth have to be altered, and the bone and facial appearance are preserved.

Missing teeth can make people self-conscious and can actually make you look older, as they cause the face to have a “sunken in” appearance over time. This is because, once the teeth are out, you actually lose bone in that area every day after the teeth in that area are gone. Because of this, the sooner you address the problem, the more bone that your preserve and the less likely you will need additional bone grafting done to restore that area.

The average success rate of dental implants is 95% and they can last a lifetime with proper home care and regular maintenance visits. Contrast this with the average life span of a dental bridge, which is 10-15 years. The procedure also has very little post-operative pain involved. For those patients who would prefer to be sedated, we offer oral conscious sedation and nitrous oxide to make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Your dental implants will be placed and restored here in our Prairieville/Baton Rouge dental office. That’s right. You won’t have to go to a separate office to have the surgical procedure done. This is because Dr. Moore has trained extensively with some of the best implant dentists in the country and has successfully placed implants for years.

Our patients love the fact that they can have everything done here in our office because they know us, and know that we will take excellent care of them. You’ll also find that the cost of dental implants done here in our office is much more affordable than what you may have heard in the past. Give us a call for a free implant consultation, and see how dental implants can change your life.

Implants can be used to replace one or more teeth or to anchor a denture in any patient who has sufficient bone and who doesn’t have one of the handful of health conditions that preclude placement.  Most people are able to be treated with dental implants so long as there is sufficient bone to support the implant and there is not a disease that will prevent healing of or cause a continued loss of bone.

There is no maximum age and are very few conditions which prevent a successful outcome. We’ll do a thorough exam and be happy to answer any questions that you have regarding your treatment.

What exactly happens during implant treatment?

At the surgery appointment, the dental implant(s) are placed, but are generally not used until after three months of healing time, during which the implant and the bone “join” together in a process called osseointegration. During this time one of several temporary prosthesis may be used so that you don’t have to be without teeth if you so choose.

After the three months of healing time, an impression is taken if crowns or a bridge will be placed and is sent to the lab for fabrication of the desired prosthesis.  About two to three weeks later, the final restoration is delivered. A piece called an abutment is screwed into the implant(s) and the crown(s) or bridge is cemented on top the same way that a traditional crown or bridge would be cemented to a natural tooth.
